Looking for a razor
as the title said im looking to buy a straight razor i do have enough money for an expensive one but i don't want to start with something premium i have only shaved once with a knife as a joke after sharpening it.. my point being is i want something that is good quality and not too expensive in case i don't like shaving with straight razor

I always suggest just asking around, neighbours, granddads, dad, uncles, the "older generation". I aquired 3 very nice atraight razors and a "new" strop for free from my long term barber. Sent them a honemiester will have them back next week. The great thing about this approach is if you aquire it from someone you know, they can mentor you or at least get some tips. Also I like to hear about any history of the blade, interesting stories, how old it is etc..
The most important thing is to make sure your razor is "shave ready" this does not mean "factory shave ready".
EDIT: ANd welcome to the forums

Keep an eye on the classifieds here, there are some good deals and most are "shave ready" which is something you really want to start with. Welcome to SRP.

Welcome to the forum. As stated there are often good, inexpensive, entry level razors in the classifieds. Check them regularly as they tend to go fairly quickly.

Welcome to the forum I'm new here also.

Hi and welcome. Another option is whipped dog. Many have used Larry's razors for an entry point before upgrading once they know that they want to continue.

now i really feel welcome here :D did not expect it
i do have 2 old razors.. one is emde solingen and it's kind of jacked up it shaves but you have to apply a lot of pressure so not suitable for shaving your face i do have a leather belt but it does not seem to get any better the blade needs some serious i work i guess
and other one might be quite good and sharp but i cant get it till summer so yeah eventually ill have one vintage straight razor in really good shape but i still want something new i guess just to be able to compare it and since i got into it now i want to have something as soon as possible
Ralf Aust - Solingen 5/8 Black - $102.99 : seems nice and the price is alright ( what is re-honing? )
also are there any websites that have free shipping in Europe ?

I didn't realize you lived in Europe. Shipping charges may change the dynamics of your initial cost? Hopefully some of our European members will offer suggestions for In Country S.R. Vendors.
