Anyone in the Kansas City Area Want to Help a Newb Out?

Title Says pretty much all of it. I am welling to drive some.

I have only been at it for a month. I have watched Lynn's DVD several times and read many, many posts. However, I still feel like I am messing things up. I dont think anything is wrong with my gear. I am more of a hands on learner and it seems that I function better if I see someone do something in person.

If anyone can help out or make suggestions on better ways/places to learn it would be much appriciated. I am resisting the urge to use the Mach3 out of laziness but I dont know how long I can hold out without making some improvements. :(
