Thumbs up Shave 100 Random Thoughts

Ten musings after hitting the 100 Shave milestone...

    1. I am a lifer. I can't wait to shave and wish my whiskers grew faster. It's a wonderful hobby.

    2. I'm a scuttle guy. Warm lather is great. Scuttles are fun.

    3. It's not for everyone, but I love pre-shave oil. I use it before all three passes and my results have improved while my nicks have declined.

    4. Also not for everyone, but I'm a talc guy. Consistently, my favorite part of the ritual is drying off with some luxury talc and my neck duster. Feels so good.

    5. I'm a hopeless soap addict, never used a cream. I'm weird that way.

    6. I'm a hopeless kamisori addict, never shaved with a folding razor. See above.

    7. My skin stretching technique is poor, poor, poor. I kinda suck at it, so that's what I'm trying to improve on.

    8. Your water, hard or soft, will greatly affect the performance of your soap. Some soaps are useless in hard water, some kick ass.

    9. Stropping is fun, but I can't do it in the morning when I'm groggy. I do it before I go to bed.

    10. I have a lot of expensive soaps from around the world and I love them, but if you're on a budget, Catie's Bubbles matches or out performs soaps that coast five times as much.

    And the journey continues...

Just a couple of ideas to throw at you in reference to skin stretching. Rub your fingers on an alum block for super grip. You can cut a 2" x 2" section of an old flannel shirt and wrap that around your stretching finger for good traction too.
