They are trying their best! A great retirement job, buying old razors and shining them up!
I won't buy anything they have had their mitts on, myself. JMHO

Some, including people who bill themselves professional honers and restores, hone with electrical tape on the spine to keep the hone wear hidden after hiding it by refinishing the blade.

Still, the wide and uneven bevel on the razor tells you that the geometry/hone wear is significant and/or uneven, regardless of what the spine shows or hides.

It may end up shaving well, or not, just like any other razor it's impossible to tell from a picture.

My personal stance is to stay away from razors that are intentionally hiding stuff - I like to have the actual flattening on the spine from the hone wear visible.
To the point that even high profile restorers here who use this tactic are not getting any business from me anymore.

    1) Sniping software - automatically submits bid just prior to closing. Not magic.

    2) A seller may choose to have unsold items relist automatically - turnover time is usually around 3 to 5 minutes. Not magic.
