0 Days Since Last Accident!

Most people at any given factory hate the Safety guy.
I certainly didn't need him around as I like to develop the best way to do something and replicate that every time.

BUT even after a thousand blade cleanings, and thousands of hours spent holding and working with sharp objects..
Accidents happen.

This time I was trying a new cleaning tool (floss), and I didn't take enough care. Stay alert, and deliberate. Especially when trying new tricks.

This thread is mainly for you new to the hobby, but everyone can use a reminder. . .. Especially clumsy guys like me.

Sometimes I think my left hand is trying to kill my right hand. The second I’m not paying attention the left hand stabs the right hand with a tool. Tragic that they cannot get along.

I have had some close calls. The other day I had to check all my fingers were there.
If I was accident prone, I would be dead rite now :/

So did you just loose a little skin and blood? Or the tip of you finger? Be careful my friend. Playing with razors is not a good idea but we all do it in one way or another. I know ive drew blood a fes times and had stitches too to fix mistakes made while holding a razor.

I think I would have preferred stitches, the cut went under the nail ending half way up. Some iodine and a bandaid to hold the fingernail on, skin tape so I could go right back to cleaning rusty pivots!

Don't do that! Cannot say I didn't warn you! Lay the razor flat and keep it still with one hand while flossing with the other.
You will need to re position the blade from time to time. Try to keep the spine toward the flossing hand as much as possible.
Tape the edge? :D

I still remember as a kid, pulling all of dads DE blades out of the holder they came in. Then thought about him beating my arse, so I tried putting them back in. Needless to say, my fingers and hands looked like chopped steak.

I figure pops seen it as my own punishment, never said a word.

Yeah Tom, in retrospect a taped edge just "feels right" now!
