Crease from nose to lip

Hi

Here?s a fun term and a question. The wrinkle that links the edge of a nose to the corner of lips is called a *nasolabial fold*. Mine isn?t pronounced or unusual but I can?t seem to get SR position right. Especially in my left (non dominant) hand approach.

A) he doesn?t heat his face, but he must have, right?
B) he doesn?t have much of a fold and plows right through those spots fluidly.

I keep cutting or poking myself in that spot maneuvering to hold my generally loose skin taught.

I stretch the skin with my tongue or puff it out with air in my mouth. First pass WTG, then ATG and Cross Grain if necessary.

I just push the skin north of there up and it flattens that fold nicely.

Ok. In retrospect this is all foundational advice

1) tongue filler
2) inflate
3) stretch (always)
I tried the tongue and it wasn?t really stable. Maybe I?m still skittish. Inflating worked nicely. I can?t seem to stretch that but I?ll keep trying.

The making of faces is an important aspect of my skin stretching. Also it does take time to have the confidence to know you stroke and go straight in and execute it. I rarely heat before a shave.

I like your use of the word confidence. If you worry about cutting yourself you surly will.

Just want to say this is one of the few videos I've seen with perfect wrist position when stropping.
I like the sponge concept for cleaning the blade but hate the idea of bringing the blade down towards the porcelain. Safer to bring sponge to the blade.

You don't heat? !!! Ouch?

I get the confidence piece but doing this without a steamy hot face is a whole new conversation. Maybe thats why my skin feels loose?

I UseNoxema for a preshave and face lather. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I never do that but not as a regular shave. For a functional shave, I usually go for quick, close and comfortable shave. Comfort is my top priority. I will also say in the beginning there were no quick shaves. They all took about an hour.

All the above are good suggestions. These not withstanding, you could always grow a mustache. :shrug:...just sayin'.
