Just Under the Jawline.

No, this is not the title of an upcoming pulp comic, just a question. So, I'm new here (I have an introductory post in the general forum) and had a question about that tricky area just under the jawline. Now, I have never shaved with a straight razor, just my Mach 3. I can get a smooth shave with it everywhere except that area just under my jawline. When I switch to straight razor and I learn how to properly shave with a straight razor, do you guys think that problem will be solved? I understand that it may take up to a year for me to actually learn how to shave with a straight.

Shouldn't take a year. You should be able to skin yourself str8away.... Seriously, it does require that you pay attention to how the blade works against the way you stretch the skin. Attack from different angles and find the right technique. The results are a close shave w/o irritation.

You should be able to get the jawline without any problems.. It will take some practice but you;ll get it eventually... I faired quite well on my maiden shave. I think a year is stretching it a little. Watch the videos and do some reading. One thing that's stressed through this forum is having proper equpiment.. Most important is having a shave ready razor.

Everyone's face is different so for some guys it's easy and for some it's not... A lot of men will need to stretch the skin.. I'm not at that point where I have to stretch my skin, but I'm sure I will eventually...

It's the direction of attack that solves the under chin delema. Switch hands to get the angle if you have to.

Aha, well I haven't got my razor yet, but when I do, I'll keep your tips in mind.
