Newbie Indoctrination into the Straight Razor Speak
I'm a newbie and I admit it. I'm still learning as I lurk and read in the forums that interest me. However, as a newbie, there are some abbreviations I still haven't figured out. (I might be slow!!! Heck it took me a while to figure out what DE meant - but context helped there...)
So without further ado, here are the abbreviations that I've seen used by the non-newbies and may cause newbies (such as myself) to stumble. If I know what it means now, I've added the definition. (Could this stuff be put in the sticky?)
DE - Double Edge - as in your old toss away, disposable but becoming ever more expensive razor
WTG - With The Grain - as in shaving in the same direction that your beard grows...
ATG - Against The Grain - as in non "shave ready" deadliest, most painful way to do things!
XTG - Cross The Grain - hopefully with the two above, this one needs no further definition
BBS - Baby Butt Smooth (aha! This makes so much more sense!)
RAD - Razor Acquisition Disorder (although my guess of a "Razor A Day" isn't that far off!! :D )
HAD - Hone Acquisition Disorder (hadn't seen this one, but as a newbie, I haven't been straying too far off of the newbie path...)
Any others I should add here?
Thank you to the non-newbies!
