Okay, I've seen a good number of topics on this, and never quite found a final answer. What is a good/acceptable number of strokes before shaving? I have a double-strop, leather/linen.

You'll get a lot of different answers on this one. Not sure about the linen. I think on average anywhere between 30 and 60 on the leather. There are a bunch of threads, and thebigspendur did an experiment on stropping you can look for too. Good luck.
the answer really is whatever works for you. try many and then decrease them until the shave isn't comfortable anymore. most people I think end up doing 30-50, but if memory serves somebody was using 15 every few shaves.
As stated above, there's gonna be different answers. I stop 45 times on each side (linen and then leather). If I'm just using a one sided strop (leather only) I strop 60 times. Thats before EACH shave. I strop my razor in the evenings before going to bed.
