Default Introducing myself - saying Hi

Hey, Guys! (Im sure not many women on here, but hey, you never know) Should say hi to them too

Just glad this site is here. Been lookin to buy a strait razor for a long time and I'd like to try and shave with it. Good think I found this site, as I learned it isnt shave ready when you get it. I need to know how to sharpen and hone first.

Anywho, lookin forward to learning about that.

    Take it easy!!

Welcome. You could always buy the straight
and send it to one of the honemeisters here
to sharpen for you. You can then have
something to compare it to and practice honing
on a junker or ebay special later.

Welcome! Your best bet is to buy a razor from the B/S/T (buy, sell, trade) forum here. Make sure it says in the description "shave ready." Most razors here are, but just double-check. That will save you the hassle of trying to learn to hone before you master shaving. You can generally get good ones on the inexpensive end for around $40.

    Best of luck.

What's your shave history like? I have managed to shave with everything out there that wears the tag of razor. I have used disposables, electrics, cartridges, double edges and of course a straight razor. Sometimes I go into my shed and see my ax hanging there and wonder what that would be like . Just kidding.
