My Shavette arrived today, but before I start scraping my face, i wanted to ask: for the first shave, should I have stubble, or will it be easier if I have a few days' growth of beard?
Thanks!

I might skip a day just to give yourself a little more than a days growth but I wouldn't let it get to long. While the razor can handle it it does take just a bit more skill to mow a forrest.
Ok. It takes weeks for me to grow a forest, so I'll let it grow for a couple of days then. ;)
That Shavette sure is sharp. I test-shaved a piece of my arm - the hairs literally flew off! Is the Shavette sharper or duller than real straights? That thing really is wicked sharp, so I just wondered how it compares to a real razor since I'll be buying one of those too soon. :D
It's almost certainly sharper. The machined double-edged blade
is indeed very sharp, but most around here don't find it quite
as comfortable as a traditional straight razor.

They do make for good travel razors since you don't need a lot of extras.
I usually enjoy my shaves after a few days of growth.. :D
