got a good deal on some straights
I am a newb to straightrazors but i am extremely interested in learning to shave with them, i went to the flea market and randomly saw some for sale, all are forged in germany or england, the one in best condition is a Romo Solingen. my question is if they are in good condition does it matter that they are old, can i send them to a honemeister and get the same shave as if i bought a brand new dovo and sent it off? i have bought 7 of them so i hope i can. only one is damaged where the blade is bent from spine to blade its minor but when you catch the glare on both side you can tell one side is more concaved. i just wanted to know before i spend another $20 getting them fixed to shave.
ps. although i am not good by any means, 3 of them will give me a incredibly close shave on my sideburns but when i get to my goatee the hair is REALLY thick and it pulls, will that stop if the are honed?
pss. one is a magnetic straight razor, does this have any benefits at all?
