Say "NO" to Styptic Pencils

My GF got me this bottle of 100% Aloe Vera Gel, and I have been using it in various ways, and just discovered a new way.

This morning I got two nicks, one under my lip, one on my neck.

My styptic pencil is gone, so I tried using a dab of Aloe Vera Gel.

It stopped the bleeding in both places immediately, and no (as in ZERO) pain. No stinging, nothing.

I went to work and the cuts were still invisible, well actually, one had a *tiny* dark spot, but did not look like a cut or blood.



Sorry guys, I have always found the Styptic pencil to be problematical. This is like a miracle.


I realize this is my second posting about this stuff. No, I don't sell it, I don't work for any company that sells it, and I am not a new-age herbal fanatic. Honestly, this is my exact experience.

That's why I took up straight razor shaving, because it is so painful!!! Ha ha ha!!!!!!!

I love the pain! I passed by some in a whole food type tore and almost got some, i heard it works good if you put a squirt in your lather. Like an aloe vera superlather...i think ill pick some up next time i pass by it.

If there is no pain, what is the motivation for improvement?

I use pure aloe vera as my after-aftershave (after jojoba oil) every day. I haven't found it to have any effect on bleeding, and I actually find it rather stings even on slightly irritated skin. (My bottle claims to be alcohol-free, but it sure doesn't feel like it. The ingredients list actually also has a few other chemicals, even though it's called "100% pure Aloe Vera".)

I'll try it sometime.

Grandma used to make ice cubes out of a decoction of plantain or stinging nettle. We used it to stop bleeding and disinfect in one step. Many green leafy plants will work. I still carry dried powdered nettle in my hunting bag first-aid kit.

They actually have to put preservative chemicals in it. Aloe straight from the plant breaks down in a matter of minutes after removal from the plant and loses all its medicinal properties. It was actually a big deal in the field of burn treatment back in the seventies when they finally found a way to stabilize the stuff so they could package it.
