I just called the Knivery in Chinook and he said they do carry some DOVO razors but they come right from Germany and he is sold out. I asked him about honing and he said he did some. I suppose I could learn to do it as well but knowing me I'd just screw it up.

BTW, I made due with a Col Conk handheld hone and pretty small strop too. I bought them from the same online shop the day I bought my razor.
I bought a Col Conk 6/8 razor (made by Dovo), a strop, a hone, some strop paste, some JM Fraser cream, a Booster Oriental Spice aftershave, and a styptic pencil and a brush for my beginner's shaving gear. Shipped, it cost me under $300.

Got my first BBS today. It was a nice shave too, a relaxing and enjoyable one.
I think my skin is getting used to shaving again. It had been some time since I had shaven more than once a week. I used to hate shaving so much that sometimes I would go for weeks without doing it and would dread the aftermath of rash, zits and ingrown hairs that were sure to come. I'm so happy to say that those issues are non-issues now that I shave with a straight. Sheesh, I wish I had started shaving the right way a long time ago.

Gotta ask you. You did finish on a finer hone than the Colonel Conk didn't you ??
Most folks finish on nothing coarser than a 6000 - 8000 grit waterstone and if I'm not wrong the Conk hone is about 1200 grit.
