I have bought a wooden bowl with soap in it, like this:
Is it ok to have the soap in it between shaves, or will it soke and get wet and moisty, or will it just dry out and be fine?
Also, why use a cup for lathering? I just lather directly and the soap, since I like my lather to be thick and not waterede out.
Any tips for me,I am new at this?

I would assume that if the wood bowl has been treated with the proper sealant it should be okay, but I'm not 100% sure. As for lathering in a cup instead of directly on the soap, it's easier to control the consistency of the lather in a cup, and you won't use up your soap as quickly.
I imagine the bowl has been designed for the soap, so it should be fine.
Lathering in another bowl, I think is one of them personal preference things, just like the uberlather.
I use neither, haven't experienced any ill effect, and I still have most of the sample sized soaps, I got about 9mths ago. They last fine.

almost all of mine are stored in bowls with no side affects. I do lather in another bowl mainly because I am a follower on the latherking Glens teachings :bow. I really dont think you will see any problems.

I just leave the lid off mine for about an hour after using and it seems to dry out just fine.
As for lathering,it's just about personal choice.Sometimes I lather directly on my face adding a little water to the brush as I go.Sometimes I carry the dry lather from the soap bowl to a separate bowl and add water while building lather there.
yes, nothing to worry about the bowl - these are made specifically to hold soap and are finished correspondingly. as churchill said, just leave it open for a bit after use, so that the soap can dry (I leave the lid on top but offset). i lather on my face, which means that i just swirl the brush over the soap to get it loaded and then build the lather on my face. some people prefer to use a separate bowl (the soap bowl is way too small to build lather).

I was actually thinking, that if I melted the soap, and put it back in the bowl, water could not run down the sides, and reach the bottom, where it could sit and soak? Because if I melted te soap, it would create a vacuum leaving no space between the sides and bottom of the bowl? I think Ill give it a try.
I just saw some videos of lathering, now I understand more. I think Ill try out different technics.

UBERlather, am I suppose to lather normally in a bowl, and then add some postshaving cream? Any partically cream for this?
If you flick the excess water out of the brush and do not saturate the soap, using just enough moisture in the brush to create lather there should be no problems with moisture diluting the soap or ruining the bowl.BTW WELCOME!

In direct answer to yer question about what shave cream to use??? The most versatile one that I have found that mixes well with just about any soap is the" Body Shop shave cream for men" #2 for the same reasons would be "Kiss My Face unscented"

I've always stayed away from wood bowls for that reason and I do have one but don't use it anymore. I guess if its well sealed it should be OK but water soaking in it is never good but then again I don't know that these wood bowls are made to last a long time.
As far a lather goes I have always lathered directly on my face and thats fine but recently acquired a G-3 scuttle and I have to say the quality of the lather is much higher doing it that way. I think the difference is great enough to justify the purchase, or at least that's what I told my wife.

I have had and used the same wooden bowl for 15 years. I have never left the lid off it so I have never made any effort to allow it to dry. After all that time, there is no hint of a crack.
In answer to the original question regarding why to use a lathering bowl, it allows the creation of the lather to be done in an empty bowl that has the room for that lather. The wooden bowl with a new soap in it affords little room for the lather so you use your wet brush to pick up a little soap from the soap bowl and then you make the lather in another bowl.

Shaving cream is for lathering after shave balm is to be used on your face (after) you shave like after shave.
