Hello!
Been in straights for a couple of months, and doing reasonably well I thinnk, but there is one thing that I have noticed.
The speed of the razor across the skin..
In my case, with my face and type of beard, it seems that I do need some amount of speed (cm/s) to get a smooth, clean cut.
That makes me wonder, how does other feel? Are the blade traveling lightning fast, or snail slow across your skin??

I think your razor isn't sharp enough. You need long strokes to accelerate and you're going to hurt yourself. Sharpen the razor, slow down and take short delicate strokes.
I normally recommend short, even and steady strokes with minimal pressure.

I have got blades I consider fast and others I consider slow shavers. If I am hurried I usually take a fast blade. I don not deliberately speed up my strokes.
For me it's like pencil sketching; after a while, there's a natural tempo that you fall into. But don't try to achieve that tempo or you'll hurt yourself. Make your strokes slow & even, & let time & experience bring you up to tempo automatically. (The same goes for stropping, BTW)
I go for the slow, long deliberate strokes for cheeks and neck. The chin takes a bit of short stroking action though.
