Welcome to SRP, seems like a great project in the making, advice around here is free to all.... However getting somebody to send samples probably might prove to be not very easy.......

Go to the Classifieds and buy some of the restored vintage razors there, tons of "samples" to choose from. Also strops, hones, strop paste et al. ;)
Be sure to cover such topics as "compulsive strop addicts" (scene of me stropping my razors at all hours of the day/night) , "maniacal lathering maestros" (that's be Glen), and "Psychotic honing wierdoes" (check the advanced honing forum for a lineup of the usual suspects...).

You're wading into it now. The depth of difference of opinion regarding shaving is gonna drive you crazy. Luckily you've come to the right place. Please go to the Help Files and start there. Keep in mind that not everything you read will be considered orthodox rules to follow even if they try to pass themselves off as such so double check with us. Any more specific questions will be easier to answer after that.
