Hi
Kenrup has what he calls "The Filly strop" that he sells for $25 plus shipping. I am not sure what the shipping would be, but to Norway it was $10 for the whole starterkit. http://straightrazorpalace.com/vendo...tml#post215955
I bought a starterkit from him and I have that strop. It's nothing extra but it gets the job done just fine, and he pasted the backside for me at no extra cost!
Arlendius
I tried to contact him regarding a starter kit, i was really interested, but got no reply, so unless he does i'm still looking for one.
Thanks.
Have you checked out eBay Australia?
I don't think Tandy has locations in Australia but there must be someplace comparable to get a decent piece of leather. I made two 2-sided paddle strops for about $20 US.
There will be the usual postage but you may want to check out Tony Miller's entry-level strop.
Make a Kangaroo strop!
I have both the Vegan starter/travel strop and the Original from Tony Miller both are excellent strops. For a basic starter strop you could also check with Damon for what seems like a nice inexpensive strop, disclaimer: I haven't used one.
I can only recommend two strop names because thats all I have used, my first strop was an Illinois #327 I bought that in 1982 I'm still using it....
I also have a TM strop that I bought last year, and I can't say enough good about the high quality of that strop...
My every day user is the Illinois #827 Russian that one is about 18 months old and I love the draw that it provides.....
This of course obviously is my own very limited opinion....
