Will a razor with a rolled edge pass the HHT?
This is not an experiment I have ever cared to try but I would not imagine so. In order to pop a hair, the very apex of the edge has to bite into the hair. If that apex is folded over, I don't see how it could pass the HHT.
Sad to say, but this is a common sense question....
Even the basics of straight shaving is novel for lots of people on this forum. I am still learning a lot here. For that reason, any question anyone doesn't know the answer to is a fair game question to ask. Common sense is irrelevant.
if the edge is rolled, it means it has folded over itself. like a curled edge. So, the very end of the razor will be completely blunt since the edge has rolled inward. like Utopian said already
it would be hard to get a hair in there to test it, and it wouldn't help much anyway since shaving with it would be very difficult. Unless the roll was very minor. I don't know what I'm talking about actually
just try it and report the results, i am very curious. assuming you have one that is
I agree with Utopian; I don't think any question asked here is not worth asking if the person genuinely doesn't know the answer/can't find it.
Not to split hairs ;), but I think there can be varying degrees of a "rolled edge". I agree, a completely "rolled edge" would be like a wave that's cresting or crested. However, an edge could be starting to roll, in an arc, and I would say it could pass a HHT if the hair was drawn into the rolling edge. And remember; a rolling edge gathers no whiskers.

I shaved my head with no problems and the next day shaved my face and the toe of the blade pulls badly, but will pass the hht after a good stropping. Could I have started to roll the edge while shaving my head?
I don't think so. Make sure the toe is making good contact each time you strap your razor. When I first began shaving with a straight I had to strap my razor many times more than I have to now because not every pass was a good clean pass. It came with more practice
Depends on whose hair you're using. The HHT is so highly subjective, I'm sure there is someone's hair somewhere on this planet that will cut using a rolled edge. No one I know though! I don't even use that test anymore. Of course I do occasionally have to explain why the back of my left hand is clean shaven and the other hand is hairy. The real test is in the shave.
Thanks, I will try to pay extra attention to the toe while stropping and see if that helps.
