boka,
My guess is yes, you are pressing too hard, but really I don't have a clue. If you have just started wet shaving it is possible that you are experiencing some sort of exfolliation as an extremely sharp edge drawn across the skin probably removes some of the dead skin cells (epidermis) as well as whiskers. How does your face feel after your shave? comfortable or stinging? Is it red and blotchy? What is the condition of your razor? New? Honed by someone with accepted credentials? More details please for the experts here.
I don't know what to tell you however that's not a normal or routine situation. maybe your doing a slight sideways maneuver, not enough to actually cut but enough to slice.
I am using a Boker razor. It is sharp, but could probably be sharper. It is properly stropped. Sometimes my face does appear red and irritated after a shave.
boka,
Is it a new Boker or an old one sold to you by a member who stated it to be shave ready?
How small and thin are you talking about? What kind of skin do you have? Normal/dry/oily?
I have fairly dry skin. I rehoned my razor and most of the problem is going away.
