You should check out [url=http://www.vintagebladesllc.com] . They offer allot of straight razor set's that come with everything your husband will need to get started. Just chose the DOVO razor. When you log on, top left you'll see straight razor set's. You can get a complete set from 160 & up. DOVO is a very respected & high quality razor. Good-luck
If this will be his first foray into straight shaving, may I recommend having the razor pre-sharpened (honed) as is an option when you purchase from most vendors.
You can check the classifieds. You will find several that are shave ready (required unless your hubby is able to hone to shave ready state), and quite affordable. The ad will tell you if it is shave ready or not. As a recommendation you should look for a 5/8 or 6/8 round point. They are the most forgiving for beginners. Please ask questions about the razors. Additionally, he will need the following:
1. Strop (hanging is best, paddle will work)
2. Shave soap/cream
3. Brush (many, many sources)
