I just got my new razor, its a Dovo ebony 5/8 stainless...It was purchased with the pre-honed option.....theres a sticker on it that says
"your dovo straight razor has been honed to perfection by lynn abrams, It is completely "shave ready" and does not need to be stropped prior to first use"
so am i save to go at it, or should i strop first???
As I understand it, Lynn suggests you not strop the first time you shave with one of his pre-honed and stropped razors. New shavers can roll the edge their first time out without ever knowing what that sharp edge feels like. I think you should strop before your 2nd and successive shaves.

I recently saw a post where Lynn commented on that. I did not strop my razor the first time I used after it had been honed just to get an idea of how sharp it was. I would follow the directions that came with the razor anyway. Please, let us know how it goes.

i also ordered my first razor pre honed by lynn and did exactly what it said and it gave a fantastic shave and ever since then i have adjusted my stropping to keep the edge as close to lynns as i can:gl:
