    Default Dang thing bit me!

Haven't gotten anything worse than a nick in a while.
Today, I finally got a good lather with some Mitchell's Wool Fat (first time i've use soap in a WHILE...I think since I switched from DE to straights!) Was two passes into a really, really nice shave (think I might stick with the soaps for a while!) Put the razor down, rinsed with some warm water, relathered, was admiring the lather, reached for the razor...OUCH! Knew it was a bad one before I looked down to see the point a quarter inch or so into the pad of my finger. Bled more than I expected.

Not a nick or a weeper on my face. Nice BBS shave. Now my finger is throbbing, the bandaid makes it hard to type, and I have one less finger to faceturbate with.

I love this razor, but it sure does like cutting me. I think the three worst cuts I've ever gotten were with it (always from lack of attention), but the best shaves come from it to. Ah, 174 year old steel.

That is a bummer. Can't be too careful. Early on in my straight razor shaving I have come close more then once to cutting my fingertips on the stretching hand when bringing the razor in to start the pass.

I have also hit the razor with my stretching hand while it was suspended over my cheek and I was bringing the stretching hand around. Lucked out and close but no cigar. I am a lot more careful now. Hope your fingertip heals quickly.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Sorry to hear of your mishap. Speedy recovery! Do you have a pic of the culprit that you can post so we can watch out for it's cousins?

I changed hands without paying attention on the second or third shave with my old Bismarck and the heel end sank into my thumb. Didn't hurt as it was going in, but damn it bled. Finished the shave (I was half-way though, so I couldn't stop). It throbbed for days after and took a while to heal properly.

Lesson learned! When I feel myself starting to rush or get complacent, I remind myself to respect the blade or it WILL bite me.

Respect the blade! I was once moving my left hand across my face carelessly and got a long cut (fortunately a very shallow one) from the toe tip stretching over three knuckles. It is amazing how quickly they cut and how late the pain comes, is not it?

That's a fantastic razor! Like a swiss army razor, as it has it's own built in mirror.

I once sliced into my thumb as I was passing the razor from one hand to the other. Bled like the dickens!
