I just won these,a Robeson and Tryon. I planned on using them for practice honing and if they aren't in too bad of shape, shaving.... Are these quality razors?

They look good enough to start shaving and practice honing with. Good price. :)
I think you did great. Especially for the price. :tu
Acouple of very good razors at a very good price!
You'll soon realize that you do not want to mess up those pretty razors! :D
The Robeson will be awesome, to be sure. I have never used a Tryon before though.
Overall, I would say you did pretty well.
I don't know quite where the idea of "practice razors" started but in all actuality there is no such thing....
Those are Vintage razors, the Robeson is a very high quality razor, I don't know the other brand but I bet it will shave just fine....
The reason I mentioned "practice" is for this... I've played the ebay game long and hard. I know that every once in a while you can find a diamond in the rough, but it's not often. I had several reasons for bidding on a few razors. 1. I wanted a pattern for scales, I have a fair amount of micarta laying about as I make knives from time to time. 2. I also refinish gunstocks, and if I remember correctly, Mr. Brownell has mentioned using an old straight for scraping off the old finish. 3. I just wanted to tinker with them.... While I may not be the brightest bulb in the box or razor in the cupboard, I would never screw up a fixable quality razor just to get the "feel" of something.:gaah:
So relax, I'd no more mess up a quaility razor as I'd put a vent rib on an mint 97' Winchester:D
