Will hone free 3 razor's .first 3 people will contact me (or leave message in here)I will help. 1 razor for each person.don't send Pakistan razors will ship right back or chineese. Lastly I hope person who needs help will contact .I am doing this to help member's of this wonderful side. You send me email I let you know my mailing address. You have to include postal stamp and package to send back. Owner of the razor can be International straight razor user too. To me Doesn’t matter as long as you guys pay for return.

The only razor I have that needs a hone probably wouldn't take one. It's a Selective Professional, and those are on the do not buy list (bought it before I found SRP). I've got a double arrow in the mail from ruprazor.com, so I'll have a good sharp razor soon enough. I'm just tired of shaving with that really sharp pocket knife in straight razor's clothing (still less irritation than my cartridge razor or I wouldn't do it).

I've been meaning to make a similar offer, so I will ride on coat tails. If someone beyond the three in this offer wanted to take him up on his offer but were not quick enough to respond, I will serve as the consolation prize. Well, this certainly isn't my intended first posting, but I felt I had to seize upon the opportunity offered.

I have been working my way into straights for a few weeks now. I have bought four razors as a "first" razor with the intention of having it restored or just sharpened if that is all that's needed. I bought a Boker "Red Injun", A Duble Duck "Satinedge" (roughest of the four, and not really all that rough, to my untrained eye), a Geneva "Special A" and a Genco "Henrys".

Thank-you for the generous offer, and if I am in the running, tell me which would be best for a "starter".

I have spoken to Mr. Miller about strops and we have one planned. I have bought Mr. Ellis' CD on Sharpening and restoration and I plan on ordering Lyn's dvd on straights also.

Either the Red Injun or the SatinEdge would be my recommendations if you want me to hone them. I have honed a few of both of those razors and have found them to be great shavers and certainly within my capacity to hone. I have not had much luck with Geneva razors. I think I've honed maybe 5 of them and had trouble getting an edge I was satisfied with for each and every one of them. I've only honed a couple Genco razors and am not familar with the Henrys model.

My offer for three is now more than filled with requests, so no one else needs to PM me at this time. I'll see how this round goes and maybe offer it again some time soon. Gugi gets dibs for the first position!

I am new and sure could use help. I've been honing for two days and still can't pass HHT. It can shave arm hairs easily. In all reality, I will likely post for help on getting this thing honed. Having someone hone it would help, but probably it is much better if they explain what they had to do with the razor I sent them.

I'd be willing to offer help/advice but I for now I will just say you should post a similar question in the basic honing section. I guarantee you will get lots of help if you post there. Just let us know what razor and hones you are using and what you have already tried.

Man there are some great guys on the forum. My thanks to both of you, Sham and Utopian, for keeping things right where they should be, on a gentlemanly level.

Thanks for the offer. I would say that after a day, I feel better about the sharpening. I just made a post yesterday.

I'm going to rescind my request for being one of the three. I think I am close and there are probably three others who could use the help much more than I could.

I'll do free honing for three more razors. I'd like to reserve this for three newer members that need help with one of their first razors. However, if Gugi wants one honed, that's fine, I'll just add that as a fourth razor!:D

Newbie's LET HIM DO IT. I just got mine back from him and it is extremely sharp. And he did this to a $10 DA, so imagine what can be done with better steel!!! :rock: Thank you again utopian:bow
