should i get a 5/8'' or 6/8''
If you could, get your hands on a vintage Wapienica. I have been told it's a very good starter razor. I am on my second shave now with mine and I am really enjoying it. I got mine from the invisible edge and I believe ruprazor has them from time to time. It's a little heavy, but I actually think the weight helps when your starting out. You can pick them up for around $50 and they are worth every penny. Also cool that it is new old stock and was made sometime around world war 2.
I like bigger blades 7/8 and up. Just what works for me. Try looking on forum they have some deals that you will be happy with.
You can deffo do it for $100.
Vintage shave ready off here for $30-40. Kenrups strop for $20, I paid about $15 for my brush. Leaves you plenty of change for a couple of the cheaper soaps/creams - hell, you could get an ebay special with the change, pick right and it will only cost you $20 to have it honed (when you can afford it) and you'll have a back up.
I paid ~$70 for my razor, strop, brush, 1 cream, 1 soap, preshave oil and aftershave balm. I made a freebie scuttle from containers knocking about the house.
