Water staining seems to be a recurring theme with new Dovo razors.
no wasn't stained out of the box but stained very quickly once used!
Some say use an eraser, try it but I never had any success. A rolled up ball of aluminium foil has worked wonders for me (thanks Olivia), or metal polish (Maas, Sidol).
never heard of the foil method, will try that and let you know!
Just tried the foil method, it works wonders!
Just make sure to keep clear of the edge. Anything abrasive enough to remove tarnish will dull the edge if applied carelessly.
If you have any honing paste left try some 0.5 diamond paste on a q-tip or a rag, very small amount. It worked wonders for my very shiny razor and did not leave scratches.

Be careful of the goldwash. Maas, etc. will take the goldwash right off.
I tried both methods, foil shiny side and dull side(just to make sure..LOL) which took about 50% off then followed up with q tip and paste which took of the rest of the spots! I now have my shiny new razor back in fighting shape, thanks for the tips !
Darn it - forgot but should have taken before and after shot as one stain was pretty big, hope I don't have to do it again but now I know what works! Thanks again
Something else that seems to work about not getting spots is to rinse the razor in a stream of hot water then dry with a towel. Leave open to the air while you are cleaning up. It has helped me a lot.

i once saw a post where someone used scrubbing bubbles to get the spots off
I was a lab assistant in grad school and we rinsed our labware with distilled water so they wouldn't spot. If you filled a squirt bottle with distilled water, you could use it to rinse your razor.
I had trouble with staining on my new dovo as well. I was a little hesitant to wipe the blade close to the edge and next thing I knew there was a fair amount of staining close to the bevel.
I used q-tips and flitz to get the staining off, by pushing out from spine to the edge.
Find your local woodcraft and buy a bottle of camellia oil. 1 or 2 sprays on your razor after you dry it, rub in around and wipe off, seems to be a good recommendation for preventing further staining, pitting, rust.
good luck and enjoy!
Hey...ive been using a dovo, consistently for the last four months and it still looks like it came out of the box.
I read on this site, that wiping the blade with alcohol, works well...ive been doing that, waving it dry and putting it away. Its been pretty sucessful.
Hope that helps ya.
Thanks! all good advise will try some of those suggestions
