One month into SR shaving.... and the verdict is?

Awesome.

Every time I shave it gets better and closer. I haven't had to pick up my styptic in over a week (knock on wood). I'm trying all kinds of different grips and passes to get that super smooth skin.

I have two jobs, accountant and whitewater raft-guide and at both jobs people have commented on my appearance. Here is a link to me on the river today: (I'm the cleanly-shaven guy in the back of the raft wearing a blue PFD and sticking my tongue out)

I just want to thank everybody on this site for their advice and great humor, you've helped make this a wonderful experience!!!

One problem, I'm totally addicted to the classifieds and find myself checking them at least 10 times a day, hoping for that great deal.... alas, I know there are a ton of you out there buying first!!!

Great to hear that you're doing so well Jeff. This site is the best around and the members are what make it that. Fine people such as yourself , join , read and learn and then enjoy this wonderful hobby. Quite a few stick around SRP to make it just what it is,,,,COOL!!!

Glad to hear you're doing so well. My only advise is don't get too comfortable and continue to to learn. 3 months into this and I'm still learning more. Cool photos, Do you ever get to the TN side of the mountains to raft or whatever. I don't do the whitewater to often but I do like the Ocoee. Hiking and camping is more my speed. One day I want to see me and my razor on a stream up in the back country. Congratulations, keep up the good work.

I used to work on the Ocoee a few years ago. It's a fun river and the people that work it have a good time. I've worked on 7 rivers around the Southeast and it's one of my favorites. I love East Tennessee and Western North Carolina, some of the prettiest country in the US. I'm up there at least ten times a year, either rafting, hiking, kayaking, biking, skiing, or just hanging out with friends.

If you are thinking about getting another razor, consider one with a different grind-- I have a 1/4 hollow, 1/2 hollow, and fulll hollow-- they all feel really different and it is nice to have the contrast in the rotation.

+1! I find myself checking the classifieds several times a day, despite the fact that I'm broke. I'll tell you what though, I am really learning to appreciate what makes a good razor!
