The trouble with flea markets...

is that you tend to walk away with more razors than you expected.

Narrow blades:
Weltmeister 224, original cream scales, tight pivot pin
Gebruder Lang Fermarud 73 with bone or ivory scales and a few chips
Ed Wüsthof 19, unfortunately frowning, original black scales
Unidentified yet (sort of campfire logo), wood scales with a loose pivot pin

Regular blades:
A very hefty 6/8 half-wedge with metal scales, most probably a lab sample slicer
Russian CПOPT 49г, red plastic scales and matching original box

All from a single vendor and for a 20 note... now I just need to get some hones ;)

Yeah, I have been to probaly 5 different flea markets in the last few months. The only razors i have ever seen are sweeny todd, kriegar, and orange county chopper razors. Im still fairly new, but i knew to avoid the kriegar because of this place. It really is a shame too because they have some great scales honestly. A woman working the counter had the nerve to say "these are the real deal, made specifically for barbers...we sell them to barbers constantly" I chose not to patronize the woman running the knife stand...but i wanted to.

I had more luck at an antique store last weekend, unfortunately i only had less than an hour to look around. They probably had 20-25 different razors scattered about in the different glass cases. I wish i was a bit more knowledgeable about razors so i could have them open specific cases. I still ended up walking away with a boar brush, and a torrey razor (which i have being honed as we speak).

So I actually did 3 more flea markets today... and found another seller with a lot of straight razors. I didn't buy in the end as I didn't have enough cash on me and I wasn't sure I wanted to purchase 70 euro worth of razors in one go.

I may change my mind and go back before they close ;)

The plot thickens, I cleaned up the Weltmeister and you can just make out "Biedermeier Nachschliff" etched on the blade. Also, upon closer inspection, the scales are probably not original as the pivot pin doesn't match the wedge pin.

I have search LONG AND HARD for a wusthof blade in my price range... even if it needed fixing...
