I've been reading the positive reviews of the Dorko 300, and it's similarity in shave to the Le Grelot 1/4 grind. A couple of questions about the Dorko ... Is it a 1/4 grind? Also, is it a 6/8 or 8/8 blade, or both? I'm asking because I don't know if a Dorko 300 comes in various forms (grind, blade, etc.), or if it comes in only one format. Thanks! :confused:
The only Dorko 300s available right now are the 8/8 full hollow ones.
Thanks, John. Are there other vintage Dorko 300's? I guess when I see the statement that the Dorko 300 shaves very similarly to the Le Grelot 1/4 grind, I think it must have similar characteristics (1/4 grind, 6/8), but maybe the shave is similar due to the added weight of the 8/8 blade? Or maybe there are vintage 6/8 1/4 grind Dorko 300's out there on the "secondary" market? Thanks again!
If you should be referring to mine (Dorko "300" 8/8 - Straight Razor Place Wiki), I'd say it's a 3/4 hollow. The blade offers little, if any, flex, and does not sing. I am assuming that the ones John is selling are the same. If so, I'll stick to my verdict: Get one while you can, you will not regret it.

I don't know how the blanks started, but I doubt that they were wedges ground to this level of hollowing.
i used had darko 300 traveler razor.
it had back work and size was 6/8. I am sure it was 3/4 hallow and tank was saying best silver steel.
Was great shaver and i have never seen second one after i sold mine.
I appreciate the help everyone ... so I assume that the Dorko 300 is only an 8/8, except for the "traveler" at 6/8, and that they are not 1/4 grinds, but 3/4 hollow. That answers my questions ... and appreciate the additional info on the "low-flex, no-sing" ... besides the weight, that info is of interest to me also.
