Oops I did it again - tagged razor on sink

This is the second time I've done this -- gently tagged the edge on the faucet while rinsing it. I mean, we're talking minute here. It almost looks like I've created a tiny burr then repaired it using the back side of the strop (pasted) and then stropping normaly without any honing. Anyway, the razor shaves fine -- smooth and close with no scrapes or cuts. No marks on the strop, either. The details are from examining the edge with a loupe.

I'm thinking just let it go and have it taken care of when the razor starts shaving poorly.

What do you guys think? Maybe as a newbie with a razor only three weeks old I'm overreacting.

sounds like you stropped it out. I wouldn't worry about it.

Bring water to your razor. Don't bring your razor to water.
You hold the razor in one hand and rinse it with the other hand cupped and pour water on it.

I have done the razor under the faucet since I started 15 months ago. I learned early on to put the razor under the running water spine first, not edge first.

Treat the razor, like you would your guns, with care and respect. Handle it slowly (until handling it becomes second nature) know where you have your edge at all times.

As a newbie, this has been making me nervous that I will do the same thing, but I was worried that wiping the blade with a towel would do something bad to the edge?

Or maybe I'm just paranoid I'm going to slice a finger or something that way...

I wish I had a picture of the look on my face the first time I brought the razor up to my face. I thought for sure I was going to need a bucket to catch all the carnage. :)

I've often wished that I videoed my first straight shave to put up there on youtube with the others. I'm sure it would have amused others as much as it did me.

I really do hate the way faucets are designed. They just get in the way :)

When we get our own place that we don't have to rent, I'm gonna put in something like these below...:y

thats a cool faucet...looks like it may use less water as well
