First shave this morning!
Well, last night, my razor arrived. Hurray! I bought it off the classifieds, so it was ready to go. (Thanks Pete!)
This morning, with some trepidation, I had at it. I decided just to do the cheeks, WTG, as suggested elsewhere in these fora. I am pleased to say that it went very well. The razor was clearly sharp, and I got the nice scraping noises featured on Jockey's videos. I guess I got the angle okay. I only had one minor nick, but then I got another one from my Mach 3 as I was doing the rest of my face.
One thing I noticed that isn't clear in the videos - I can't see my sideburns, because the razor is in the way! How do you guys deal with that?
I just got an email that my Filly strop has shipped, so it will be a few days until I can attempt my next shave, but it's probably a good idea to let my face rest. I can definitely feel that my face is a bit tighter than usual, although I used Art of Shaving after-shave balm (got some samples at the local store).
So, I'd say it was a good start!
