It looks like I've purchased the wrong knife. I wish I had read this post before ordering.

I've sent a request to cancel my order. I only ordered it yesterday so It shouldn't be a problem.
Now I'm going to read some beginners material.

My first "shave" was with a Zeepk! (That was before I found SRP, of course.) I bought that package on the bay and the only thing I salvaged was the brush, but I'm working on fixing that as we speak... Do yourself a favor and never try to shave with it. You don't want to learn the wrong way to shave with a straight razor.
If you can't cancel or return the razor, dull it down and practice stropping with it. Or tape the blade and pretend to shave to get a feel for holding a razor to your face.
hopefully you will be able to cancel the order...like the others have said, the zeepk is junk...try and find a good vintage blade. there are several in the classifieds here...good luck
Glad you caught it quick...I wonder how many perpectives have been disappointed and quit because of zeepk?

You really really need to read the Beginner's info about what razors not to buy... I didn't want to bum you out but that razor is on the list...

Your original screen name was unacceptable to the system admin, that is why it got zapped your new one is fine...
You also might want to follow the last bit of my first message to you and ask for help when you get to the point of hitting the "submit" to buy button on a razor... Most any of the Mods or the Mentors will be glad to give you advise on a razor that you might find... in fact just post it right here in this thread and most any of the membership will be happy to help

I could not cancel the razor and now I own it. :(
I've decided to hold off on getting a straight razor. First I want to start using a safety razor then move to a straight. This way I can use both depending on my mood.
I ordered a safety razor from ebay exactly like this one for $10 shipped.

It just arrived in the mail so tomorrow I will try it out. Could somebody recommend a "lathering solution" for a poor person like me?
BTW - If anybody wants to buy a zeepk straight razor just send me a PM. I hear they makes excellent letter openers. :D
The 'solution' is to buy a cheap but good soap, eg Tabac, and a similar brush, eg an Omega and learn how to use them. There are links to articles on all three on this page in the Wiki. You'll find more info in the relevant sub-forums here and elsewhere on the web. Good luck and don't sweat over the Zeepk, don't shave with it either:).
