First Shave Completed
I've got a Thiers-issard Taos straight razor 5/8 C135 steel.
some badger brush that smells like badger (fixed with some dial soap, then shampoo and conditioner) a short one sided DOVO strop (probably should have gone for a double sided) but my first one is most likely going to get nicked and destroyed so I'm ok with it I guess. Also some no name pre shave lemon oil, lemon soap and balm from some kit I'll look it up later. So I did my first shave yesterday and didn't cut myself or bleed one bit. was a scary undertaking and I had to stop for a few seconds when my hand started shaking. I tried to keep the proper angle and got a baby butt smooth shave. My skin was a little tender, but I might have been taking longer strokes than I should have. Either way I'm on my way to a better shave.

Hey good job! no blood! My first str8 shave took 45 minutes and I was exhausted. It now takes me about five minutes to do one pass which is about what gets me by most of the time. Practice... practice... practice.

yeah right now my biggest concern is that I might have over pasted my strop. maybe I'll take a pic of it soon so you guys can give me some input..

On the strop, if it's a wax type paste, you can spread it around using a hair dryer. Just remember, less pressure of the blade to face union, the better....GREAT JOB!!
