Been re-reading this little booklet recently. This really is a lot of good stuff and it gets better re-reading it. I probably should print it out to have it handy.
Thank you . Great read. Amazing how things evolve.
I do think it's a mild abrasive that smoooths it out a bit. I am currently trying to run a bit of an experiment where I am keeping track of stropping and trying to find if lengthens time between having to use CrO2. If the experiments works I will post the results.
Great read. Thanks for the book. It should help a great deal.:)
Thanks from a newbe in VA. I look forward to studying this old book.
Read it cover to cover last week. Using the tips and techniques this week. Thanks!
Wow, another great read! I searched for a few other barber books and got a nice list. It will take awhile to find the relevant ones, and even longer to sort out the better ones from the worst.
Internet Archive Search: barber
Already found a few that look promising.
Barber Instructor and Toilet Manuel
Illustrated book of instruction, the Robinson system of barber colleges (1906)
Thank you for great link.
For those who were interested in magnesium chalk in novadays is far easier to get it from climbing shop as climbing chalk.
What about just using normal chalk? Would that make a difference to the edge?
I ask because for one of my classes I actually have a blackboard (the others use whiteboards) and I wanted to steal a piece of chalk but didn't really have anything to use it for.
