Felt too good to be bleeding...

So by my 3rd shave, the sideburns and cheeks have been smooth and no nicks. On my fourth shave I was feeling brave and started in on the lower lip and chin area. My question... After shaving WTG down and through the chin area, everything came out good, clean, and smooth. No nicks. I next went to the uper lip. All was fine there too. As I was wrapping that up, I saw half a dozen little bloodlets seeping from my chin. I have no clue where these came from. Any help? I was trying to stick to 30 degrees or lower, and stropping has been ok so far. My lather is somewhat dry but I relathered right before attempting the chin area.

Welcome to SRP. Those little blood spots are known as "weepers" and in my experience they can come with a super sharp blade, too much pressure, or maybe something else but I've had 'em. More with a DE than with a straight but every now and again. Good that you're on your 3rd shave with no nicks. Read my sig below and you may never get one if you follow the old barber's advice. :)

+1 on what jimmy said. it does take a little time to get up to speed. do not rush it. it will only get better with experience...good luck

Just lay the razor down a tad and lighten up on the pressure the slightest bit as has been already mentioned. It is good that evidently you have a pretty sharp razor and because of that it will cut even if you lay the razor down a bit. I often can feel the steel behind the edge, ever so slightly. I have found also that weepers were more common when I started shaving because of slight bumps and collections of cells on my face. It takes a little while for the skin on your face to get used to having the top layer ever so slightly removed. You are, after all, exfoliating you skin during every shave and that is why your face feels so dang good when you are done! It takes time to get use to a new way of shaving just like using an electric or a DE does.

+1 to what Riooso siad. When I starting str8 shaving, I was getting weepers right in the little concave section about 3/4" below my lower lip where the ball of the chin starts. I kept getting them and finally started laying the blade almost flat to my skin...VOILA! No more weepers. There are other things you try to help with that. One thing is to stretch the skin in that area by folding your lower lip over you lower teeth. Another is to use you tongue by sticking in between your lower teeth and lip. You will just have to find what works best for you.
