Harsh Blades on Disposable Straight Edge?

I've been using 7AM blades on my disposable straight edge, while I wait for my razor to arrive in the mail. I was previously using another blade, but I had these laying around and thought I'd try them. I noticed that they were a lot harsher than the other blades I used, to the point where they scraped my skin at any angle I tried, I applied plenty of well lathered shaving soap, and even tried some home made preshave oil, but it didn't work.
Have any of you used these blades and gotten the same results? I even tried running a fresh blade over my arm hair, and it just yanked them out.

I know guys who use them in their DE's and they seem to be well regarded though I haven't used them myself. With any disposable blade you have to find the right match for you skin and beard.

Personally, I never did care much for the shave from a disposable straight. It may be the short blade length, the coating, or something else. I tried a lot of different blades, and I remember Red pack personna and derby blades to be the least offensive.

I was recently given several packs of Dovo disposables and have been trying them on some customers. I am really happy with them and they seem work well in almost every type of situation I have encountered.

Granted, they will not shave as close as one of my str8s will, but the finished product was close enough that I was happy with results.

Well it's good to know other people had a few issues with them as well. As for it not shaving as close, I've noticed that too, mainly around the neck thought. The cheeks came out smooth.

This is a strange issue. I hear more people talk about variance in performance of DE blades than str8s.

My guess is that it's easier to compensate for variances in str8s than DEs because of the nature of a holder fixing blade angels etc.

But I have noticed my face hates Merkur blades and now Feather blades. I seem to get the best results with Derby blades, while again, others can't get a good shave with them to save their lives.

+1 to what everyone here has said, with DE blades, you just have to find the one that works for you.
Myself, I like the Merkur, and the PM blades, but they are, still, much less forgiving and much harsher than a traditional str8.
