I made a huge mistake after shaving! I was in a rush today and left my razor out on my sink counter sitting in a puddle of water. When I came back home tonight I noticed it had rust on it!!! heres a photo

My question is that I'm wondering if it is fixable, because the top part is like blackish now and the bottom part has a small orange circle. Any help!?
I would think it's not all that bad wipedown and maybe some oil.
However i'm sure some better info will come in soon.
You can use Maas to remove it
Bummer.
Very carefully with a q-tip & some metal polish try see if the stains will shift.
Be very careful not to work over the edge.
The edge itself may benefit from some passes on a linen strop if it hasn't rusted badly.
..And you will keep it dry & oiled now :p
Don't feel bad. It happened to me too when I was a newbie. With some metal polish and a piece of cloth you can probably polish it off, though you'll probably always see the watermark. There is probably none of us here who didn't make at least some kind of basic mistake in the beginning :)
A little maas will go a long way, get it at home depot. :)

I use Mother's which is sold @ Walmart, its cheaper than the standard Maas/Flitz and does the same job.
yeah, don't sweat it... it looks like it may clean up without too much resistance, and there are many worse mistakes a beginner can make. One good thing from all of this is that I'd bet that you don't make that mistake again. follow the tips the guys have already given you and you should be set...Good luck
We've all learned from our mistakes. It doesn't look irretrievable, as others have said. Careful polishing (ie near the edge) and a good strop on the cloth should do the trick. Best not do it again though.
When I was a newbie I closed my razor and the day after I noticed there was water between the scales which left a spot on the blade. I polished it out with a tissue and a little bit of Dovo red strop paste. This removed the stain completely. Now I always check my razor for little water drops and never got a stain again.

If you don't want, or can't find, a metal polish, you can even use toothpaste for light staining because most of them have light abrasives in them.
Or, since it's just a Double Arrow you could just chuck it and buy a new one!

i hope it can come out with some oil and polish.
although it's bad for you this one posting and issue you had actually is giong to help me alot by making me check for water and wipeing down the razor throughly everytime i use it. (since i am a newb)
