Nice choice. The first time you shave, you might not think that the blade is actually shave ready because of pulling. It is plenty sharp.
Have fun.
Hello Muguser:
You have made a fine choice with your starter kit, especially since the razor will come professionally-honed and shave ready.
I don't know what soap, cream or brush you use for your lather. If you would like, you are more than welcome to share with us your choices.
Now take your time and hone your skills as a straight razor shaver. Don't forget continued reading in the Wiki, and watch as many shaving and lathering videos you can find.
Regards,
Obie
In the begining you don't need to worry about grind and such. That is a perfectly good blade to start out with. Once you get the techniques down for shaving you can start playing with different grinds. Experience will help guide your choices down the road.
Congrats on your first set up :)
Great choice! You really don't need anything else, I've had a
few Dovo Best Quality razors that shave just as well as any,
and look good too.

PAY HEED TO THIS!! When I started, I had the mistaken impression that the shave would be a completely smooth experience, with the blade just gliding over my skin and slicking those stubs off with no feeling whatsoever. Wrong! You can, and SHOULD feel those tough little hairies coming off. It is a new feeling, but one you get used to, and indeed, it is very necessary to getting the feel of what the blade is doing and how well it is cutting the whiskers off. It will just take some practice, and getting used to the feel and what the blade is telling you.
Good selection and welcome!
What shave soap and brush do you have or use?
85% of a shave is skin and whisker prep... water,
lather, time... are key. Do not forget the soak
time.... about three min.
That one has been reviewed extensively: http://straightrazorpalace.com/shavi...-wool-fat.html. It is not too high on my list of things I must have. Nice, but not stunningly so.
