So I have a brand new russian strop and already have one very mild nick flap. I was thing of taking fine sand paper and gently sanding it out and then rub some dressing on it to blend it in . Suggestions are very welcome..Please:gaah:

How you treat it will depend on the size of the cut. Small nicks can be sanded out, bigger slices will need gluing and then sanding. It sounds like you have a flap of leather there, so it may be better to glue it down with some rubber cement, then sand it and dress it afterwards.

Good luck and keep us posted!
If this is your first strop, I wouldn't fix it...that strop will likely be utterly destroyed in six months anyway. Have fun while you learn to strop. At the six month mark, buy a new one.
This is a very small flap(very small) so I thought I would just sand it and dress it. I'll let ya know how it turns out.:)
Neah...I got two more actually and this is my good strop. I think a light sanding should be allright. No way am I letting a good fifty dollar strop go down the flusher.:)
Bad news on the strop, but Google is your friend.
