Bought this: ZEEPK PROFESSIONAL 20" LEATHER BARBER RAZOR Strop Strap
Is there any use for this at all, except for perhaps the trash bin or beating my kids with? I am thinking perhaps with a strop paste?

It may work for paste...or whipping the b*stards that produce them
Since you have it already, why don't you give it a try or two and then make a decision. I know that there are other strops of better quality out there but as long as it is flat and even, I doubt that it would hurt your edge, although it may not work the best. After all, a strop is just a specialized strap of leather.I have read that people have used newspaper, jeans, leather jackets and even their pants as a strop.... Just a thought.
Al raz.
Probably needs to go in the trash. If you have a lot of time and want to use it you should redo the surface and it may be somewhat useful, but you're definitely better off spending that time in a low paying job and buying a good quality strop with the earnings.
If the leather is smooth and the hanger strong play with it.
Start with v. fine or near fine paste 0.5 micron or so. A dozen
laps on CrOx helps many freshly honed blades. Diamond under
2 micron on hanging leather can also find a place in the shave den.
Two micron to five micron grit needs to be backed by something
solid IMO. To this point, you can glue the leather to a 1/4"
thick strip of plywood and make a supplementary hone.
Give it a try and if its going in the trash keep the hardware for possible future projects
Received my Dovo "Best Quality" yesterday! along with the zeepk strop. Gave it a few strops being very careful to keep it light and flat going slow. It arrived very sharp and did past the HHT, so I wanted to not over strop it and worried about ruining the edge before the first shave.
Did a partial shave last night and completed it with my safety razor. Shaved again this morning with it. I definitely see I have a learning curve to get over just from the length of the blade. The safety razor is much narrower. I shaved again this morning with just the Dovo and it went much better. Also no nicks! hehe.
I do think that my use of the old fashioned safety razor first for the last couple of years is helping because I am used to a single edge.
You guys are great! Thanks for all your help!
