At last i received my razor.. and gave it a go! And it does shave...managed to shave smoothly and now im on the long way to make this technique perfect..
So lesson number 1 never buy a razor that is not provisionally honed!

Yep, having a shave ready razor really does make a difference..!

Pro-honed is the only way to go if ya don't do it yourself. Heck, even if you want to start honing your own, having one to judge your own efforts by is indispensable.
I think this generation doesn't really know what 'razor sharp' really means. I've been shopping for pocket knives and had the salesman say that the this or that knife is razor sharp...really? Bro, you have NO IDEA what razor sharp really means. lol.:)
Yes, Having more than one razor is key, especially one that was pro honed to compare to. It also takes the pressure off if you are having trouble getting a good edge. You can still shave with the other razor. :beer2:Quote:

What's come to mind as a counter question though, is what would be the difference between Razor Sharp and "Surgical Tool" sharp. As sharp as our razors seem to get, it seems like that's exactly what a surgeon would be needing to use. Just with a different edge for higher precision.
