First shave, I'm liking the Dominica Bay Rum Lime
I shaved my face (well parts of it) for real for the first time today and I'm nearly 40 years old. I used a J.A. Henkels I bought from an antique co-op. I gave it good stropping and away I went. It was a little rough, but not too bad. I have a 4k/8k stone on order, and I'll give it a hone when it arrives. The wiki is a gold mine of information. Thanks to those of you who put it together.
The Dominica Bay Rum Lime was ordered by mistake. I figured I'd keep it since it wouldn't be cost effective to return it. Nice aftershave. For one thing, it doesn't smell like lime (at least not to me). Secondly, it made my wife smile; that's a good thing. Thanks again for the wealth of info on this site. I never thought I'd look forward to shaving. Here's a image of my new razor.

It was sharp from the get go
I had 5 days of camping fur to hack off. I shaved both cheeks (face...lol), WTG, with the straight. I went with the old Trac II for the rest WTG. I went ATG (across) with the straight for the second pass on the cheeks and neck with a second thin lather of the Colonel's soap. The roughness was probably due more to my technique than the razors sharpness, the razor was bloody sharp after the stropping.
Dominica Bay Rum Lime....Still smelling good.
I like the baseline comparison idea and I'm considering it. I'll use the stone when it arrives, and if I don't get good results, I'll send one of the razors off. Thanks for the suggestions.
