1st year of shaving experience
I've wet shaved for the last year and followed all of these forums frequently. Considering the seniority of the people here, I am definitely still a beginner, so I post in the beginner's forum for other's benefit. The day I started this shaving style was when I got a "wild hair", grabbed a razor from a local antique shop, sterilized it, went to town, and never looked back.
In the last year, I think I've managed to shave with everything from a butter cutter to my professionally honed DOVO Bismarck, and have enjoyed the experience from beginning to end. For someone like me, this art of shaving isn't trying to get a closer shave or to save a buck on cartridges, but rather to turn a daily, mundane task into a fulfilling accomplishment each morning.
I want to thank all that have contributed to these forums and have pulled this style of shaving out from obscurity. I really want to forge/grind my own razors, even though I can't hone one properly yet. I know I've mangled 3 or 4 razors in this attempt, but I won't risk my Bismarck in my learning curve!
Thanks to all for your contributions.
