but I'm gonna ask it anyway.

I've got a starter strop that is serving me well. I got a little too fast with it and somehow put a few dings on it near one of the ends. Glad it's not in the middle. It's a nick nick nick kind of thing.

I should not strop my razor over this dinged up area, right? The idea with the strop being to straighten up the edge of the razor and dinged up areas aren't going to straighten anything.

<sigh...>I did go crazy today and buy a Kanayama, but I'm gonna leave it in its box for a year and maybe open it up and gaze reverently upon it from time to time...

If you can feel the razor catching, I wouldnt.... But... If you have some pumice. You can go over those areas and smooth it back out.

If it is a large cut you can glue the flap back down, then go over with teh pumice stone.(I speak from experience).

Yeah, unless catching I wouldnt worry at all. If small nicks or imperfections such as you describe had any real effect most of us would be screwed.
