Has anyone heard of the a company called Kriegar or sweeny todd? do they may good razors?
No avoid a kriger or a sweeny todd at all cost they are usless and shuldent even be aloud to be sold as razors, Get yourself a nice vintage razor like a a wade and butcher or go and buy a dovo razor from SRD, if thats not an option look at the classifieds there are tons of great razors in there for sale.
No that razor is NOT a good razor, before you get started check the WIKI there is a beginners section and shopping list, before you make any purchases. There is also a list of do not buy razors and Krieger is high up on that list. Welcome to SRP
Regards,Tony
dunno about the sweeny todd one but the Kreiger is such a no-no it's made our list
Brands of Straight Razors to avoid - Straight Razor Place Wiki
NO NO NO NO NO....don't do it! :nono:
I need to find a cheaper razor. i want to start but i cant afford something more than 30 bucks. do you guys think i should try to save more and buy a new razor or by one that has been restored.
Check the classifieds here...or save up and get yourself a decent shave ready razor...you'll be thankful you did. Those things on ebay are usually cheap for a reason.
i was going to order something from the whippeddog. he restores razors and sell them. i found some for like 20-30 bucks. i am looking at a brocker, or puck or spike. any recommendations. The guy a whippeddog is a great guy. check out his is site. Whipped Dog Straight Razor Sales
I've never dealt with him personally but have heard nothing but good things about him. That would be your best bet if it's in your range :)
I dont like try new brand,I BELIEVE old brand
Koosh, you could do a WHOLE lot worse than ordering from Larry at Whipped Dog. He's great for n00bs like us, he has selections in the $30's that are well-known vintage razors. They aren't pretty, but they are awesome. Besides, you can always clean up the blade and rescale later, if need be. At least he'll get you started on the right foot. I know he did for me, and I'd gladly recommend him to anyone.
whipped dog razors are fine, they arnt show pieces but they get the job done cleanly, I recommned them base on what iv head for manny members,
What are some good brands for razors? new and old.
Larry at whipped dog razors is a great guy, he's a member here as matter of fact. His deals are great and he really is one of the best around. His aim is to get newbies to try new razors, and at a budget price so you can try anything from his site and it is guarenteed to be shave ready, and none of his razors are cheaply made, all high quality, i have used him, and would reccomend him over and over. As fars which to try, if you dont know anything about any of them, just pick one really, the differences are all a matter of preference. Personally, i'd choose the Brocker. But, like i said its all a matter of preference. Hope it helps.
