Cherokee76,
+1 on buying new and professionally honed.
The first razor has a somewhat 'trying' life during the initial foray into straight shaving.
It has to survive the learning side of the shave and of the stropping, the inevitable bash on the tap (faucet), sink etc.
A good quality basic razor such as the Dovo Best fits the bill nicely.
Good luck !
Have fun !
Best regards

new or used
I would say stick with the classifieds here at SRP. I would avoid ebay. Many of the sellers do not understand straight razors and most likely do not know what shave ready means. You could also try buying new from a reputable vendor. If you decide on new, DOVO is not bad.
