wapienica shortage?
I have heard a lot about these razors and have been looking to aquire one. Of course right now the only one I have found was on Ebay for $149.00... Now I might be new but I kept reading that you can find them for around $30.00 in their original state (which is what I am looking for). Steel scales and what not, but I can not find ANYONE that has these. Is there anyone here that would be able to direct me to find one? I had even read that open_razor and stamps222 carried them for a long time but when I looked them up they didn't have any.
Should I just give up the goat on this search?

I don't think Wapi's have been readily available for quite some time now. There are definitely a lot out there, so I wouldn't say they are "rare" or "collectible," I just don't know where you can get new ones at the moment. I can definitely say I do not think they are worth any more now than they were back then, though.

open_razor used to sell them. He still sells shaving stuff on ebay.

Yea.. I will hopefully get ahold of one.. Heck i would be happy with one without Scales I can just build my own.... Something to look forward to..

My understanding was they were never newly manufactured razors but NOS pieces made a good time ago. Maybe the supplies are running low.

Well, remember when read, 'you can have them for around $8 in their original state' and you could get them for $15-$20 honed...
It was only about 3-4 years ago.
If they're not available anymore it's probably because the stock has ran out but that's what happens with limited supplies. I'm sure you can buy a lightly customized one for $300 if you want that kind of thing. I can refer you to the guy who runs that business.

Luckily Wapis are nothing special. There are better blades for $150......
