No problem! You'll find that, overall, straight shaving is no more difficult than Religion 121. Good luck!

I'm 55 and shave twice a week!
:)
Unfortunately I didn't inherit my father's beard that was shaved twice a day... I got mother's genes. Dad's side were all bald with beards that had to be burned off with a torch, Mom's side all had dark, straight head hair and used to hunt buffalo on the great plains... go figger.
Anywho, those two straight shaves a week are 60 minutes of 'me time' that I look forward to and thoroughly enjoy.
Early on I used to 'burn' my face easily until I found my razors needed to be insanely sharp and my touch had to be insanely light. I am fortunate in that both of my shaving instruments 'sing'... they sing on the first pass, then I turn them around listen for their 'tune' on the second and it's done.
A good soap or creame has plenty of fat and my face feels really greasy afterwards. The only thing available to me here locally is Williams and it's doing a good job.
Be sure to use an aftershave every time. That 'burn' tells you it's killing bacteria. If you have to, rub a drop of neosporin into your palm along with your af. It couldn't hurt. It also couldn't hurt to lather your face every day - even if you don't shave. Scrub that face with that brush. It'll feel good and you'll be clean as a whistle.
Hang in there, take it easy and enjoy.
