Hi Guys, Thought i would pop on here and say hi,
I am new to this straight razor stuff,
Recently i decided that i would have a shave, for the last 22 yrs. i was bearded in the winter and still will be ( outdoor worker). The funny thing is i enjoy a good shave, but was finding the process very boring (and expensive)( have you seen the price of all these mach 84.3 and gillete footballer razors), and confusing see the previous comments,
Each razor released was the best thing on the market. i suppose i am a little old fashioned i like doing things by hand, like planing wood etc, i have all the power tools ( boys toys) but like using the traditional plane.
So thought i lets try a cut throat, so i bought a disposable blade straight razor, the experience was ok but i didnt like the way the blade felt.
I found the invisible edge site emailed steve with my thoughts and findings and i know own a flatters & garnett razor , + 2 vintage ones i bought of ebay a kropp and another sheffield made one ( practice stropping), you see i am a rotherham boy where all the steel sheffield is famous for is made.
now we are down to soaps, pre shave, post shave, wow what a mine field. we could do with fair just to go and try all these different products.
Any way i'll stop rambling
sorry if i haven't filled my details in, i will get round to it
